As a child I would watch my brother draw and devour comic books. I would not know how much that imprinted upon me until later during my tour in the navy. I put pen to paper and found out I had the ability to visualize an entire picture mentally and lay it out on the page exactly as I saw it in my mind. That’s when I realized I was a graphic artist. This is a poster I did featuring the my teen superhero: WILLIAM POWER!
This is an older piece of work I did for a kid’s pool toy line. The concept for this toy was underwater football. This toy is currently on store shelves.
I always believe in providing multiples version of my work when dealing with clients. I.E. (three or four version of logo concepts) It helps provide a path of concentration and a confined arena of pluses and minus for them to choose from. This is a version two of a logo I designed for a internet based company based in Virginia Beach, Va.
This is a logo design I did for a Freelance client. I happen to enjoy making logos. My style is the simpler the better.
I practically begged to be the lead artist on JLA (the Justice League of America) a major DC comics title… I paid my douse doing grunt work and background illustrations for a long time, Unfortunately, it hasn’t come true yet. Here is one of my pages I pitched showcasing my pencils using some classic JLA characters.
I’ve done a multitude of comic work here and there over the years. This is from my personal character collection. This style of illustration is where I cut my teeth. I have since gone on to develop a multitude of styles including children’s illustration.
These characters I designed while working for a major pool and recreation product provider based in Virginia. The challenge was to create a pool toy based off potentially popular characters that could have multiple intellectual property applications. I pitched this as my end result: A group of teenage beach combers who are totally into a variety of water sports. They are the DIVE DUDES!
This is a character design I did for a young adult sports wear company with emphasis on a more pleasant style that has both adult and kid friendly appeal.
While I lived in San Diego, I became pretty close to the team’s organization and the players. I was asked to illustrate the UNOFFICIAL team mascot: BOLTMAN to try and give legitimacy to the character. He was a fan favorite but not the official mascot. This is a scan of that piece I created.
I did this cover for the same publisher for one of their author packaging deals. I created the concept for the cover myself. I used several royalty-free images and a game piece from the board-game “SORRY” to pull it all together.
This is a book cover I did for a publisher and author. I took the concept of “HOW TO FIND A CHURCH” and tried to embellish upon the multitude of cookie cutter houses of worship or at least how they may seem to the individual looking for his or her place of spiritual solace.
In web design, it’s common to generate multiple designs for the same site and offer the client several options to choose from. This Design is one of many for this particular client.
This is a concept mock that has not yet been approved by the client. It’s just one of four attempts I’d prepared before meeting with the design firm.
